Taiho Shichauzo! or You're Under Arrest! in North America, is, for the most part, centered around two ladies who are with the Bokutoo Prefectural Police, and the series chronicles some of their days while on the job. Things get off to a rocky start as Natsumi Tsujimoto is late for her first day of work as a Bokutoo Police Officer, and gets busted for reckless moped driving while trying to find a creative shortcut to bypass what seems like an endless crossing commuter train. How ironic it is that she gets busted by her eventual partner Miyuki Kobayakawa! Of course, Natsumi is not thrilled when her new captain assigns her to be partners with Miyuki. Who wouldn't be? It would be like
ranmaofdallas (refer to
helloi'mranma page) all of the sudden joining the
Denton Police Department after an altercation which involved...well, never mind about it ^^;; Anyway...after Natsumi begrudgingly tours the police station with Miyuki, and colleagues Ken Nakajima and Yoriko Nikaidoo, the two are somehow able to form a bond of friendship while pursuing "The Fox", a mysterious figure who races around in a customized Mini ERA Turbo, violating every traffic regulation ever conceived. Among pursuing "The Fox", chasing about in Miyuki's Nitrous-injected Honda Today mini patrol car, and zipping about on Natsumi's Honda Moto-Compo, Miyuki and Natsumi find they have more in common than they first realized, and go on to cement their new partnership. |
 | Miyuki Kobayakawa - "Miyuki is the machine expert, a real cool mecha freak." Miyuki seems to have an unparalleled ability to work with anything mechanical. Miyuki customized her Honda Today mini patrol car so that the engine is bored out to 700cc and runs at 100hp, courtesy of a nitrous oxide injector system. Mind you, that may not be much compared to other cars in North America, but ranmaofdallas had a 1981 Honda Civic that could only muster 81hp with a 1335cc engine. Miyuki also does maintenance on Natsumi's Honda Moto-Compo and Yamaha RZ, and even equipped a Yamaha KLE-500 with police communication equipment so Ken Nakajima could use it in a typhoon. Miyuki does have one weakness, though. Somehow, she is unable to express her love for Ken. |
 | Natsumi Tsujimoto - "Natsumi is the tough one, the best biker in town." Natsumi! Natsumi!!! YES! Sumimasen, ranmaofdallas got a little bit excited for a moment. What can be said about Natsumi? Well, she has to be the most interesting character in the series. Natsumi can just about do it all. She works hard, plays hard, and even drinks hard...she's been known to get inebriated a few times in the television series. Otherwise, Natsumi strives to be the best she can be. When she isn't busting traffic offenders with her Honda Moto-Compo, she works out and likes to ride like the wind on her Yamaha RZ. Sometimes she can be a bit pushy, though. She is constantly riding Ken about not being a man when it comes to expressing his feelings about Miyuki. Although Natsumi is capable of doing most things well, it is not a good idea to let her drive a car. ^^;; |

Ken Nakajima - "The White Hawk of Bokutoo" Ken has to be the best motorcycle cop in Bokutoo Precinct. His riding style, which he learned from his father Daimaru, a former professional racer, helps him to apprehend even the most evasive of traffic offenders. Ken usually patrols the streets with a Suzuki GSX, but has been known to ride around on a modified Yamaha KLE-500 in foul weather. While Ken is one of the nicest guys you ever hope to meet, sometimes he likes to show off a little for all his fans. At the same time, though, Ken has a little difficulty with shyness, especially when it comes to showing his affection for Miyuki. |

Yoriko Nikaidoo "Heh-heh-heh!" When you hear this little laugh come out of Yoriko's mouth, you know there's going to be some gossip that's going to be spread around the station! Of course, when there's gossip spread by Yoriko, trouble is not far behind, and usually it involves the relationship, or lack of, between Miyuki and Ken. Usually, it turns out that the entire station ends up finding out they've all been suckered into one of Yoriko's wild rumors. |

Kacho (The Captain) Kacho is a fair and just leader and is well respected among the members of the Bokutoo Prefectural Police, especially by Natsumi, who has total admiration of the Captain. The Captain is able to endure any problem with a sense of calmness. That is, unless, Superintendent Arizuka comes for one of his officer-fearing inspections! Sometimes he, too, gets caught up in Yoriko's gossip, although he is very subtle about it. For whatever gossip Yoriko cooks up, Kacho has a solution. |

Oshou Oshou is a monk who maintains the nearby temple in Bokutoo. Oshou is usually available to act as a mentor for the officers. Natsumi considers Oshou a really good friend of hers, and Kacho has even mentioned Oshou is his uncle! Oshou does have a really nice car, though. He has a cool, red, customized Mini ERA Turbo that he sometimes drives around. Hey! Chotto matte kudasai! Could Oshou be ? |
 | Aoi Futaba Aoi is quite attractive, isn't she? Well... Aoi is actually a highly decorated undercover police officer...and is male. Before Aoi joined the police, he was an MVP basketball player in high school. While working in another precinct, Aoi was on a case that required him to work undercover as a female. Aoi is such a perfectionist, he took it upon himself to learn everything there is to know about being a woman, right down to learning about flower arranging and tea ceremonies! The only problem with Aoi's perfection is he somehow forgot how to act like a man, and somehow the process he went through to act exactly like a woman has become irreversible! Eventually the other officers become used to this fact and become accepting of Aoi in their precinct. One thing interesting to note...despite Aoi's feminine personality, he hasn't forgotten that he is a man, and will not date other men. |

Strikeman Every good anime series has to have a good superhero, right? Well, unfortunately, Strikeman isn't it. However, he thinks he's a good superhero. Where injustice lies, Strikeman is there to bring back justice! The only thing is, he has this thing about bringing justice to people who commit such crimes as jaywalking and littering. Strikeman tends to overdo his civic duty by combating petty crimes with his Super-Baseball attacks. Because of his unorthodox procedures, Miyuki and Natsumi consider him a big nuisance that needs to be stopped. Unfortunately for them, Strikeman feels they are tools that injustice uses to fight his "righteous" acts. He has an ongoing grudge with Natsumi, or who he calls "Home Run Girl", for hitting a home run with one of his super-attack pitches in a deal that would have caused him to turn himself in. However, he didn't go at all and had the audacity to pardon Natsumi for her "crime" until the next time they met. Although Strikeman doesn't appear all the time in the series, he is rather interesting to watch! |
